MathCounts

mc

MathCounts® is a national enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory.

MathCounts is one of the country's largest and most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors and students. President Barack Obama and former Presidents George W. Bush, Clinton, Bush and Reagan have all recognized MathCounts in White House ceremonies. The MathCounts program has also received two White House citations as an outstanding private sector initiative. ESPN has featured Mathletes® in each of the past three National Competitions.

KSPE Bluegrass Chapter Involvement

The Capital Chapter of KSPE coordinates administrating the MathCounts program for the Kentucky counties of Bath, Bourbon, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Madison, Menifee, Montgomery, Nicholas, Powell, and Robertson.

The Chapter competition is held in February at Whitehall Classroom Building on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Approximately 50 chapter members volunteer their time each year.
